Chipotle is one of my favorite flavors – you might have noticed this! How to Make Smoky Spicy Steak

To make the marinade, combine tomato paste, red wine, olive oil, liquid smoke, garlic paste, onion powder and chipotle powder in a bowl. Whisk until blended. Place the steaks in the bowl (I used petite sirloin steaks as they don't need trimming), turn to coat, then cover and leave in the fridge for at least two hours.

Remove the steaks from the fridge 15 minutes before you're ready to cook, then heat a splash of oil in a grill pan. Season the steaks with salt, then cook them to your liking (rare for me!). Meanwhile, pour the remaining marinade into a small saucepan and bring to the boil, then keep warm.

Let the cooked steak rest for 5 minutes, slice it if desired, serve, and pour the sauce over the steak. Serve with sautéed sliced zucchini or other low carb vegetable of choice.Smoky Spicy Steak - a wonderful low carb recipe that is bursting with flavor!
