Red Wine Marinated Beef Skewers

  • 1 lb sirloin steak fat trimmed and cut into 1" cubes
  • ¼ cup red wine
  • 2 tbs soy sauce
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • ¼ tsp thyme leaves dried or fresh
  • 8 oz mushrooms


  1. Mix together the red wine, soy sauce, thyme and olive oil. Add the beef and leave to marinate for at least 3 hours.
  2. Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Thread the beef and mushrooms onto the skewers.
  4. Cook on a grill or broiler until steak is cooked to your preference, basting the skewers with remaining marinade if necessary.
