Step-by-Step Instructions
- Prepare the English cucumber by slicing it thinly - you could use a mandolin or a vegetable peeler. I like to start on one side and slice until I get near to the center, then flip it over onto a wooden board and peel/slice from the other side. Cut each slice into half.
- To construct the tree, concertina a slice of cucumber reducing in size at one end.
- Poke a wooden toothpick through the cucumber and then into a halved cherry tomato (cut side down). Repeat with the rest of the cucumber slices.
- Next, use a small star-shaped cookie cutter to make the cheese stars.
- Place the cheese stars on top of the cucumber and the appetizer is ready to serve!
