This low carb snowflake cocktail is the perfect way to celebrate the winter! Sugar free, LCHF, and keto friendly recipe.

I was watching the snow falling the other day - I'm in the Midwest so it isn't exactly a surprise in January - and wondered how I could celebrate all the pretty snowflakes. Soon I realized that I hadn't made a new cocktail for a while, and that's how this recipe came to be!
I wanted the cocktail to be snowy and white, of course. Something like a White Russian would be ideal but I don't have any Kahlua or low carb alternatives. And I wanted something easy, without fancy ingredients. Looking for inspiration I also saw white chocolate style cocktails, and although you can buy a sugar free white chocolate flavor syrup from Netrition, again I wanted something simpler.
So this is my own concoction of heavy cream, unsweetened almond milk (I used the vanilla flavor), vodka, simple syrup, and vanilla extract. It's creamy and smooth, with delicious hints of vanilla - perfect! For the simple syrup you have a few options. My top choice is my own low carb simple syrup!
However, there are some other options available like the plain version of the sugar free syrup that I mentioned earlier. You could also add a few drops of liquid stevia.
How to Make a Low Carb Snowflake Cocktail
To prepare the rim of the glass, pour a little of your favorite low carb granular sweetener onto a plate. Make sure it's something that you like the taste of on its own - Lakanto is the obvious choice for me!
Wipe a little of the syrup around the rim of the glass with a paper towel, then carefully roll it in the sweetener. Shake off any excess.
In a small cocktail shaker, add some ice, heavy cream, unsweetened almond milk, vodka, simple syrup, and vanilla extract.
Close the lid and shake well. Add some ice to your prepared glass and strain the cocktail into the glass.
Enjoying it outside is optional!
