This recipe is SO easy! Just wrap the salmon, sauté it in butter, and serve! I used two slices of prosciutto per salmon fillet, and the end result was deliciously salty and flavorful!
It's definitely simple enough to make for a weeknight meal – but fancy enough to serve when you have company! And the fish can be prepared in advance if you're really short on time!
How to Make Prosciutto Wrapped Salmon
Wrap each piece of salmon in 1-2 slices of prosciutto.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over a medium heat, and add the wrapped salmon to the pan.
Cook until the prosciutto is browned all over, flipping it over as required. How frequently you turn the salmon will depend on the shape. If you have relatively flat fillets, start with seam side down, and flip them over once. If your salmon is more like a cuboid, then again start seam side down, then turn to cook on the remaining three sides.
Season with black pepper and serve.
Shown here with some steamed broccoli and a little extra butter!
I can't stress enough how easy this recipe is to make. I wrapped the salmon while the butter was melting in the pan. While the salmon cooked, I cooked the broccoli in a microwave vegetable steamer.
Quick, tasty, and VERY low in carbohydrates! The salmon and prosciutto are zero carb, and so you just have to count the carbs for whatever you serve with it!
