If you've ever enjoyed a diet cherry limeade from Sonic, here's my copycat version! It's seriously refreshing, plus you can make it into a grown-up version by adding a splash of vodka – perfect for a treat on a hot day!

Low Carb Cherry Flavoring Options
Not quite so many to choose from here! But my top choice is Da Vinci Cherry Sugar Free Syrup, which you can order from Amazon or Netrition (at time of writing it was more than $2 cheaper from Netrition). It adds flavor, a bright bold color, and sweetness! Does it taste like real cherries? No, not really. But does it give you the “fake” cherry flavor needed for this drink? Absolutely!
Other options are ICEE Cherry Water Enhancer, or MiO black cherry, or other sucralose-based syrups like Skinny Mixes or Torani. Please note that I haven't tested this recipe with the water enhancers, so you'll have to use your own judgement when it comes to quantities.
How to Make a Low Carb Cherry Limeade
Use a citrus squeezer to squeeze some fresh lime juice into a jug.
Add the soda, cherry syrup, and vodka, if using. Stir well, and taste for sweetness. Add more syrup as desired.
Crush some ice (I just do this in a plastic baggie with a meat tenderizer!) and pour it into two glasses. Divide the cherry mixture between the two.
Garnish with a slice of lime.
- Juice from half a lime
- 1 cup diet lemon lime soda
- 2-4 tbs sugar free cherry flavored syrup
- 2 tbs vodka, optional
- crushed ice
- lime slices, to garnish
- Add the lime juice, soda, cherry syrup, and vodka (if using) to a jug. Stir well, and taste for sweetness. Add more syrup as desired.
- Pour some crushed ice into two glasses, and divide the cherry mixture between the two.
- Garnish with a slice of lime.
