This is probably one of my favorite new cocktails that I've made for ages! When I go to Mexican restaurants I often order a spicy margarita, as it's usually made from scratch rather than from a sugary cordial or similar.
And it's actually my SEVENTH margarita recipe on this blog – I've no idea what's taken me so long to make a spicy version! You can see links to all of them in my collection of low carb tequila drinks.
How to Make a Keto Spicy Margarita
Prepare the glass by running a lime wedge around the rim. Mix some salt and chipotle powder together on a small plate. I like about 4:1 ratio but it's up to you! Dip the rim of the glass into the salt.
In a small cocktail shaker, add some fresh lime and jalapeño slices. Use a muddler to crush the juices out of them.
Next, add tequila, low carb simple syrup, orange extract and ice to the shaker.
Seal the lid and shake well. Strain into the prepared glass.
Add fresh ice if desired and garnish with an additional lime and jalapeño slice.
Note: Nutritional data is best estimate as not all the lime and jalapeño is consumed.
