The often-repeated phrase “Everything tastes better with bacon” is repeated for a reason. It is TRUE! This side dish totally proves that point. Not as if you needed convincing, I’m sure.

This recipe is really quite quick to prepare and cook. Trim the green beans and cook them in boiling water for about four minutes – they should just start to get soft. Drain the beans and rinse in cold water to stop them cooking – they should be a nice bright green!
At this point I usually pause to cook whatever protein I’m also providing. Then I can continue with the recipe just before everything else is ready.
In a large skillet, melt some butter. Add the drained beans, chopped cooked bacon and season with black pepper. When everything is warmed through, add some shredded Parmesan. There is usually no salt required thanks to the bacon and cheese!
Transfer to a serving dish and impress your guests!
