I have been making variations of this recipe since I first started low carbing over ten ago! It really couldn't be quicker to make – and no cooking involved! I highly recommend that you try it.

If you can't find smoked trout then you could try smoked mackerel or any smoked fish! You can buy it in stores like Whole Foods.

How to Make Low Carb Smoked Trout Pate

Remove the skin from the trout and break it into chunks. Add it to a food processor, together with some cream cheese (room temperature), paprika, lemon juice, and black pepper.

Blend until smooth. Taste for seasoning – add black pepper or more lemon juice if necessary.

Transfer to a serving bowl or dish and keep refrigerated until required. It's a great recipe to make in advance!

This low carb smoked trout pate is SO easy to make! Just a few ingredients, no cooking, and ready in five minutes! Keto friendly and LCHF recipe.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz smoked trout, skin removed
  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 tbs lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a food processor and blend until smooth.
  2. Taste for seasoning, adding more black pepper or lemon juice if necessary, then blend again.
  3. Store in the fridge until required.
