I have my friend Keith to thank for this idea. He is well known (at least within our circle of friends) as a “baconnoisseur” so when I was brainstorming recipes with him, he suggested this concept. The no-bread keto BLT: so just what the name suggests – bacon, lettuce and tomato. But NO bread. This makes it VERY low carb!
But how to hold everything together? The answer was a bacon weave. Watch the video tutorial or scroll down for the full recipe and printable recipe card!
How to Make a No Bread BLT
Cut slices of bacon in half. Place three slices next to each other in a vertical row on a baking tray lined with a silicone mat.
Flap the top of the outer two slices down, then place a slice of bacon horizontally across them.
Flap the bacon back up, then flap up the central slice, and place another horizontal slice in the middle. Then add the final horizontal slice at the bottom by flapping up the two outer slices. I assure you that this is actually super easy! In less than a minute – you have one bread-sized bacon weave!
Repeat this procedure three more times.
To cook the bacon, place an inverted non-stick rack over the top – this will help keep the bacon weave flat.
Cook under the broiler until the bacon starts to go crispy. Remove the rack, and flip over the bacon. Return to the broiler if necessary – but you won't need the rack this time! Transfer the bacon weaves to kitchen paper to drain the excess fat.
Add sliced tomato and crunchy romaine lettuce, and your keto BLT is ready to go!

The No Bread BLT

Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon, cut in half horizontally
- lettuce leaves
- fresh tomato, sliced
Instructions
- Place three slices next to each other in a vertical row on a baking tray lined with a silicone mat.
- Flap the top of the outer two slices down, then place a slice of bacon horizontally across them.
- Flap the bacon back up, then flap up the central slice, and place another horizontal slice in the middle. Then add the final horizontal slice at the bottom by flapping up the two outer slices.
- Repeat to form another bacon weave (you will need two per BLT).
- Place an inverted non-stick rack over the top of the bacon and cook under a preheated broiler until the bacon starts to go crispy. Remove the rack, and flip over the bacon. Return to the broiler if necessary.
- Transfer the bacon weaves to kitchen paper to drain the excess fat.
- Add sliced tomato and crunchy romaine lettuce to one bacon weave, then top with the second weave.

Each BLT uses around 6 slices of bacon, which totals 0.6g net carbs. A lettuce leaf is around 0.1g net carbs. One small whole tomato, sliced is 2.5g net carbs. So the total is 3.2g net carbs per No Bread BLT!

It's faster, easier and just as tasty to just piled in the bacon, tomato and mayo (maayoooo) in a romaine leaf.
