OK. I'm going to let you in to a little secret. I'm really not that big of a fan of salads. I would choose many other foods over one, even on a hot day. So, when I *do* eat a salad as a main meal, there are several factors that I look for:
- Should contain a lot of protein
- Must have exciting flavors
- No high-sugar dressings or vinaigrettes
- Must be filling
- Can include a hot element, eg poached egg
Even if you aren't following a low carb diet, you might agree with these requirements! But what are the best ways to do that and keep the carbohydrate count down?
